• Such activities call for added police to respond to calls for suspicious and illegal behavior, which, in turn takes the focus off protecting and responding to the emergencies of our residents and elderly as well as our existing businesses. This will Increase the number of Police needed. Therefore, adding police to our force will ultimately increase our taxes.
• These undesirable out-of-towners make it unsafe for our school children and residents and will ultimately drive our property values down.
• 24 hour a day businesses such as gas station convenience stores, are disruptive to the peace, quiet and quality of life the existing neighborhoods who border their backyards. Things such as:
  • Gas delivery by tanker trucks all hours of the day and night
  • Deliveries from supply companies at all hours
  • Loud behavior from customers
  • Car alarms
  • Bright area lighting
  • Food & cigarette wrappers
  • Loiterers

THERE ARE ALTERNATIVE BUSINESSES FOR THESE SITES! BUSINESSES THAT WOULD NOT BE OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK! BUSINESSES THAT WOULD HAVE A CONTROLLED SCHEDULE THAT WILL BE REGULATED. THESE BUSINESSES WOULD PAY HIGHER THAN EXISTING PROPERTY TAXES, THEREFORE, EASING THE BURDEN OF THE TAXPAYER AND NOT ADDING TO IT.
